SUPERVISED TRAINING PROVIDED BY A PROFESSIONAL COACH WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN TRIATHLONS AND DUATHLONS
THIS TRAINING ENCOMPASSES OPEN WATER AND BAY TRAINING TO EMULATE THE REAL SCENARIOS THAT YOU WILL ENCOUNTER IN AND AROUND MIAMI
TRIANING IS OFFERED YEAR ROUND TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF ALL TYPES OF WEATHER CONDITIONS.
In addition to its Triathlon training, Focus Cycling also offers a component of the overall training in the form of its Key Biscayne Duathlon and Triathlon Training. This is the perfect place to train in all three disciplines within a controlled and secure environment.
Open water sessions start with a warm-up, swimming between 150 and 200 meters. We then proceed to the open water course between buoys, swimming up to 1000 meters. Next we do swimming-cycling transition practices, entering and leaving the water with controlled repetitions. We then move to the cycling station where the transition times are supervised.
Once the cycling section starts, a route is covered in distances between 17 and 21 miles. Lastly, transitions between cycling and running are practiced followed by a running route covering distances between 3 and 4 miles.
Focus Cycling provides professional coaches and athletes for all of its training sessions, including the Duathlon and Triathlon training sessions in Key Biscayne.
Although any bicycle would be acceptable, we recommend Road or Triathlon Bicycles as a means to improve your speed during the competition.

This course if designed for Intermediate or advanced participants for all three disciplines (cycling, swimming and running)
Beginner participants will train with the group only on two of the three disciplines (cycling and running). Swimming must be provided as an independent discipline until such time as when the participant and the coach feel sufficiently confident to joint the group.
We meet year round at 7:00 am for approximately two and a half hours (2:30) of dedicated, specific training.
Kindly arrive 15 minutes before starting the training and have the bicycle in optimal conditions of use, do not forget hydration and feeding, cycling and running shoes, sunglasses, hat, and swimming glasses.
